TOUR PROGRAM

Day 1 Kuala Lumpur - Cameron Highlands (4 hours)
Pick up from hotel in Kuala Lumpur.Travel to Cameron Highlands via the highway with a rest stop at Tapah. This is the town leading to Cameron Highlands and you will get to see the local fruits including the King of Fruits – Durian if in season.On the way up to the mountain resort, we will stop at a small Aborigine village and a teahouse. Continue to drive up the road passing through Brinchang and finally the main town – Tanah Rata. Settle in your hotel of your choice and enjoy the peace & serenity of Cameron Highlands.

Day 2 Cameron Highland - Penang (7 hrs)
Visit one of the tea plantations owned by the Boh Plantations to watch the processing of black tea and later to sample various kind of tea in the teahouse. (Note : Tea factory is closed on Mondays). Also visit the Rose Garden & Butterfly Farm. After the tea break, we head to local fruit / vegetable market to see the variety of produce from this area. Depart Cameron Highlands via the Simpang Pulai Highway – a scenic route towards Ipoh. Before reaching Penang, we will stop at the famous Cave Temple & the Ubudiah Mosque - a magnificent building with golden dome - and the former palace of the Sultan of Perak with its intricate woodcarvings. Next stop is Bukit Merah Laketown. Take a boat ride to Orang Utan Island to se the primates & the special infant care unit.Cross the Penang Bridge into the island of Penang. Check into your hotel. (Breakfast )

Day 3 In Penang
Today you explore Penang - the Pearl of the Orient and the oldest British settlement in Malaysia. See the various attractions in Georgetown including the Khoo Kongsi (Dragon Mountain Hall) clan house with its ancient design constructed to capture the splendour of an Imperial palace, the historical Fort Cornwallis and the Thai temple of Wat Chayamangkalaram, which houses a 32 metres reclining Buddha. Penang War Museum - Located about 30 minutes drive from the city is the military fortress built in the 1930's by the British to protect the Island from enemies. Situated on 20 acres of land, it is an integrated fortress constructed on what is now called Bukit Batu Maung. The British Royal Engineers and a work force comprises of local laborers blasted and dug into the hill to create a fort with underground military tunnels, intelligence and logistic center, halls, ventilation shafts, canon firing, sleeping quarters, as well as medical infirmary. This is memorable visit to one of the significant battle scenes in Malaya during the World War II. (Breakfast)

Day 4 Penang - Kota Bharu
Starting off early today, you cross the Malay Peninsula from the west coast to the east coast, passing through three states, to a contrasting lifestyle. Travel through the state of Kedah to Kroh or Pengkalan Hulu, which is next to the Thai border. Onwards to Grik where you join the East-West Highway with a rest stop at Banding Island Resort. Leaving the "Elephant Country" you then continue eastward and cross into Kelantan to Jeli and onwards to the capital of Kota Bharu. Kota Bharu is a centre for Malay culture, crafts and religion. It's the place to see kite-flying contest, admire traditional woodcarvings, colourful market place and marvel at the skills of songket weavers. Overnight in a Village – A traditional Malay hospitality experience!!(Breakfast)

Note: The chalets in the kampung have modern amenities and you have an opportunity to partake in activities like kait making & cooking. These activities are chargeable.

Day 5 Kota Bharu - Terengganu
Kota Bharu is the cultural potpourri of Peninsular Malaysia. Begin your day with a visit to the famous market of Kota Bharu. Next visit Cik Aminah Songket Weaving workshop and see the delicate process in weaving the beautiful songket. On the way to Pantai Cinta Berahi - the beach of Passionate Love, stop at Ismail Bin Jusoh and see how the mystical "Wau" or giant kites are made. Continue southwards to the state of Terengganu with short stop at Pulau Duyong to view local master boat builders at work. Rest of the day – free for independent activities (Breakfast)

Day 6 Terengganu - Kuantan
Visit a local cottage industry producing the traditional Batik cloth and brassware under the same roof. A short scenic drive along the coastal road will bring you into the state of Pahang and to Kuantan. You will see Malay villages built in kampung style and opportunity to sample a traditional delicacy - Lemang (Glutinous rice cooked in bamboo with coconut milk). Your journey continues passing Chukai known as Texas of Malaysia due to the discovery of natural gas. After Chukai, short stop at the Cherating Village where you will witness the Pig's Tail Monkey plucking coconut under it's master command and visit a Mengkuang Weaving Center. Afternoon free to relax & enjoy the beach & the South China Sea (Breakfast)

Day 7 Kuantan - Malacca
Depart Kuantan early for Malacca – cross the expressway towards Kuala Lumpur and travel south to Malacca. Arrive Malacca in the late afternoon. In the evening, take the opportunity to see the Old Malacca on a colourful trishaw ride (Breakfast) Day 8 Malacca-Kuala LumpurThe Malacca experience takes you to the major historical attractions:- Paul’s Hill, the renowned Porta De Santiago, Cheng Hoon Teng Temple and Jonkers Street where you can hunt antique souvenirs. Visit the Baba Nyonya Museum for an interesting insight of the lifestyle & tradition of the unique peranakans. Transfer to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) for yours onward flight or drop off at Kuala Lumpur hotel. (Breakfast)

Remarks
This programme can be done by self drive. Most of the drive is along highways except for the east coast. It is an easy drive generally. Or if you need adjustments here, please contact us for a bespoke tour.
